Music | “Much Alive”

I’m eager to share that finally I am able to make melody and chord progressions for my lyrics!

As you know I’m really struggling to come up for even a bit of a chord progression. That’s where I had a bad time in composing. Before I was like ‘how do I do this?’ and how do songwriters do that?’

Here’s what I learned (so far):

  • you should find chords with the melody
  • it has not to be perfect, but rather fitting with the melody

So my 2 songs are “devouring” and one with an acronyms of “W.I.S.”

To listen to it, here’s a link to the playlist/album I call “Much Alive” in SoundCloud:

devouring

W.I.S.

I can’t believe that God has bestowed me this lesson now. It maybe a little late on my part. But it’s His timetable, not late not advance.

But I’m not entirely complaining or anything! It’s much better to go along with His will!

That’s why I’ve been busy all those days 😁

Discovering Musicians

Do you also listen on Spotify’s recommended channels, playlists, or musicians?

I love to listen on Spotify while working in the computer. I started listening to new musicians in the beginning of this year, and also in the last quarter of 2020.

However in this channel that I shared, most of the artists’ song is about love. Which I’m not really into, so I’m skipping a few. But given the tune of the song and lyrics, I have actually liked some.

You’ll find some songs are Tagalog but there are a lot of English songs. So you’ll be able to listen to it. And maybe just give it a go and listen to the Tagalog songs. You might like some..

A Mournful Event in the OPM Scene

The vocalist of the band Slapshock, Jamir Garcia, has died just this Nov 26. The band was known for their heavy and meaningful songs that every member of the Slap Army (name for their group of fans) would bang their heads. The band was over twenty years already until now, and another matter was that they were disbanded now.

I’ve read the unexpected news on Facebook, and that the vocalist ended his life by… suicide… Grabe, nakakalungkot lang. Nakakalungkot marinig ang term na ā€˜yon. I’ve also read that it’s because of his depression that he did that. The band has one big issue that’s also made a one big chaos. Which I’m not delving into because I don’t know the real issue, only read bits of it, and it’s their issue to solve truthfully, so let’s leave them be. I even planned to collect Slapshock’s songs, listen to it and practice playing some to make covers. But I don’t know, man. I guess I’m disheartened now. Oh yes I respect the music they created. I heard one of their song ā€œAgent Orangeā€ and it’s really awesome!

The vocalist’s death was the same with the vocalist of Linkin Park: Chester Bennington. Two iconic and respectable vocalists, not just in the Philippines, in other countries as well. Let’s just mourn for now, and let the time heal some wounds..

As I’m in the music topic, let me update you to the event I talked about in my recent post: Rakrakan Festival. It’s been rescheduled again for next year June 26, 2021. So I should mark my calendar now, and save a lot of confidence, right? And maybe call out for makakasama for it? Baka pwede ka, samahan niyo ko, ahahaha…

Rakrakan Festival 2020 šŸ‡µšŸ‡

Rakrakan Festival is one of the Philippines’ music event that showcases the country’s arts, culture, and talented singers and bands.

Oh it is sad.

I know the event has only been post-poned. But it would be my very first music event that I would attend to. Kind of excited for this, I really do, when I bought my ticket last January 7.

Have seen the promotion last November 2019, I think. So I really push myself to attend here.

I’m nervous, though. šŸ˜…

I will be attending here alone. I need to learn how to commute. I’m a probinsyana, hehe. I don’t know about being a city gurl. Of course it was a joke. I won’t get stray if I ask directions.

Maybe if you’ll attend, kindly tell me. So I’ll have fellowship. šŸ˜
